I Am A Tourist, And I Am Not Ashamed

Updated: Dec 22, 2020

I am an unapologetic tourist. I check out touristy things because most of them are worth seeing, but I also make it a point to check out local or 'off the beaten path' places as well. There seems to be some sort of stereotype about doing that, but I've never understood it. Who doesn't want to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy, or the Robot Restaurant in Japan? On the other hand, it's a personal standard I have while traveling to avoid food chains that I can eat at back home. That doesn't mean I'm eating only exotic foods, it just feels more like a vacation when I'm not running for the nearest McDonalds. I have the worst case of wanderlust, and I have my camera on me at all times when I'm traveling. I realize that carrying my camera could make me a target for theft but I'm also careful to always be aware of my surroundings, and so far nothing has happened. So I say, BE A TOURIST! Enjoy it and capture moments that you can take home with you!
